25TH OCTOBER 2008
Introduction Welcome to both the first edition of the ProBoardsPro Newsletter for October 2008, and to the re-opening and re-launch of v1 of ProBoardsPro itself. We apologise for the week of downtime and the forum's recent brief period of inactivity. We are now back up and running, ready for business as usual! You can expect to receive a monthly newsletter towards the end of each month from now on through email and private message. You may also find previous editions of the newsletter in the Archives sub-board.
Recent Maintenance Yes, we are back with an attitude for success and activity of which we all plan to see through. After the week of downtime, several new features/events have been put into motion. One of the most important of which, is that the Staff Applications board is now recruiting. If you are interested in becoming a member of staff at ProBoardsPro, then carefully read through the board's instructions before creating your official application.
The Forum & Makeover System[/i] Providing we secure a significant amount of activity in the next month, rest assured they'll be some interesting threads and a competition or two on its way! As far as the makeover system itself is concerned - I would first like to apologise to all those who have patiently waited for their orders to be approved or completed. As I'm sure you're all aware, the general activity of the staff team as of late has slipped somewhat. Therefore, the amount of orders the makeover team have been able to take on at one time has been unusually limited. However, our team is now stable enough to carry on our work, particularly as we are now recruiting for a new member of the makeover team.
Our Fantastic New Staff Members The most noticeable and important change(s) to ProBoardsPro over the last week is the new staffing arrangement. Here are the details in full.
Over the past couple of months or so, our global moderators and head of deparment managers have been acting as assisting administrations on the forum. They have performed skillfully and reliably. Due to recent changes to the staffing system, it is my pleasure to introduce you to the newest Administration Manager at ProBoards Pro, none other than our own Jordan Nelson, who has spent his past days here as our coding manager and global moderator. I know he will do us proud as our Second Assistant.
Unfortunately due to personal reasons, Emily Jordan, our fantastic Design Manager has resigned from her position this week. We are deeply sorry to see her leave, though we're hopeful that she will able to make appearances on the forum from time to time.
Due to the two above changes, you'll notice that we no longer have staff members leading the two makeover departments - coding and design. I am happy to announce that ex-moderators David and Slayer have now taken up these two gaps in the system. May I introduce to you, David Goodman as our new Head of Coding Manager and Christie Rose as our new Head of Design Manager, welcome to the higher ranks of hierachy!
The Future[/i] As for the future of ProBoardsPro, may I first say that a lot depends on the next few months and the activity and makeover order requests we acquire. In December, the administrators will be gathering together to discuss future changes/improvements to the forum in general, in what we are simply calling 'Version 2.' Stay tuned.
Closure[/i] We thank you for reading the first edition of the newsletter, I hope to see you return to the forum in due course. To all new registered members and visiting guests, welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay with us.
Charlie Boyle - Forum Founder, The ProBoardsPro Management and Moderation Team.
